Family Fun and Safety Day
Although we did not have as many children attend as we would have liked, the Family Fun and Safety Day was a great success! The representatives from First Rescuer's Dojo put on a great performance for us. They taught our children how to defend themselves against strangers and bullies.
The Lake Shore VFD transported the county's Fire Safety House to our event, teaching the children about fire hazards and how to protect themselves in the event of an emergency.
The fire department also responded with Pumper Tanker 202, showing those in attendance how and why they draft water from the river to put out fires. The children had a blast when the fire department created a huge "water sprinkler" for the children to get relief from the heat. Thanks to those citizens who volunteered their time and donated goodies for the sundaes. We would like to thank Dojo Rescuers and the Lake Shore Vol. Fire Department for everything. Thank you, Christine Von Valkenburg for your hard work in coordinating the event. You never seem to let us down!

New Signs Needed
We need someone to coordinate having signs made up for the community. This will include the Boat ramp as well as the Playground area. If you can offer some assistance, please contact Bill Markley at (410) 439-0728 or at (410) 437-3564.
Boat Ramp Gate Left Open
We continue to experience problems with boaters not locking the gates and some boaters trying to allow outsiders to use the ramp to launch boats!
We will repeat the rules you promised to abide by when you purchased your key this year:
- It is your responsibility to close and lock the gates at the boat ramp and parking pen when you are finished with them.
- If you lend your boat ramp key out or if you allow non-registered members to use the boat ramp your boating privileges will be suspended for a year!
Please follow the rules!
Serving up the Community
Eight year old Ben Miller, grandson of Roland and Susanne Roberts, had his 1st lemonade stand of the summer. He was pleased to report a great turnout for his time and effort! Ben wants to thank all of the kind neighbors of Boulevard Park for all their support.
The Moose is Loose in Boulevard Park!
Boulevard Park welcomes the New Moose Family Center (The Old Democratic Club on Maryland Avenue). Governor George Sowards would like to invite the community to their Open House on July 30th, 2005 from 11 AM until 2 PM. Food and refreshments will be provided for everyone, as well as activities for the children.
